Wealth Screening & Database

Relationships are key to fundraising, but how can you know everyone in your database?  A wealth screen is a tool that provides far more than just capacity information.  At it's core a wealth screen allows those responsible for development to deepen their relationships with donors.

What will we learn in a wealth screen?  

A wealth screen results in far more than what a donor could give.  As a tool, it allows development professionals to thoughtfully deepen their understanding of their donors and aids in the deepening of relationships with donors.

The information below describes everything that may be found in a bulk wealth screening.


DateScored:  the date that your profile was created and scored

Profile Name: the name of the prospects in the profile that was created.

Profile Record ID: the unique ID associated with the profile that was created.

Profile URL: a direct link to the created profile. You must log in to iWave to be able to view

iWave Score: The proscore/ iWave score is a number between 1-4 that is assigned to an individual to indicate their potential as a prospect, and is made up of three important weights - propensity, affinity, and capacity.

Propensity Rating: a tendency or history of giving to nonprofit organizations, also known as inclination. 

Affinity rating: the connection or relationship a prospect has with a nonprofit organization or cause, also known as linkage. (if more than 1 affinity is selected it is an average of the two)

Primary Affinity rating: the primary connection or relationship a prospect has with a nonprofit organization or cause.

Secondary Affinity Rating: the second affinity connection or relationship a prospect has with a nonprofit organization or cause, also known as linkage.

Capacity Rating: a capacity rating looks into a prospect’s wealth to determine their ability and capacity to give.

Estimated capacity Value: is a 5 year estimated gift capacity based off of philanthropic giving, real estate or wealth markers, and will also be the highest calculation.

Estimated capacity Source: the data source used for the highest estimated capacity value.

Capacity Political (CA): Based on industry guidance, iWave will no longer use political giving (US and Canada) in matching and scoring algorithms.

Capacity POW: the capacity calculation based on prospects of wealth data.

Capacity Donations: the capacity calculation based on donations data.

Capacity Real Estate: the capacity calculation based on real estate data.

Capacity Property Manifold (CDN): the capacity calculation based on manifold data (using residential Postal Code).

Capacity Income Manifold(CDN): the capacity calculation based on manifold estimated household income. (using residential Postal Code).

Capacity Rel Sci: the capacity calculation based on RelSci data.

Capacity Thomson Reuters: the capacity calculation based on Thomson Reuters data.

Capacity Insider filings: the capacity calculation based on insider filings data.

Capacity Database USA Home Value: the capacity calculation based on Database USA home value.

Capacity Database USA Individual Income: the capacity calculation based on Database USA Individual Income. 

Properties Count: the number of Real Estate properties found on your prospect.

Properties Total Value: the total dollar value of Real Estate properties found on your prospect.

Median Property Value: the median property value for your prospect based off of Home Postal Code and uses 2016 Census Data.

Donations Count:  the number of donations found on your prospect.

Donations Total Value: the total dollar value of donations found on your prospect. The value uses the lower of the range to calculate.

Political Count: the number of political gifts found.

Political Total Value: the total value of political gifts found.

Political Count REP: Total count of donations that the constituent has given to Republican

Political Total Value REP: Total monetary amount given from donations that the constituent has given to Republican

Political Count DEM: Total count of donations that the constituent has given to Democrats

Political Total Value DEM: Total monetary amount given from donations that the constituent has given to Democrats

Political Count other: Total count of donations that the constituent has given that is not to a Republican or Democrat

Political Total Value other: Total monetary amount given from donations that the constituent has given that is not to a Republican or Democrat

PrivFdnBoard: if your prospect or their spouse sits on the board of a private foundation.

PubFdnBoard: if your prospect or their spouse sits on the board of a public foundation.
 
Planned Giving Fields: will be a yes or no, based upon whether or not your prospect is a candidate for being a planned giving donor. 

Death Record: placeholder for future enhancements.

Obituary Record: placeholder for future enhancements.

Insights: insight into your donor using the RFM score and the iWave score.

Cultivation: A recommendation on the messaging to use when cultivating prospects based on their capacity (wealth) and propensity to give (history of giving and/or a board affiliation with a foundation). This information will be provided when a profile is created and in your screening output results CSV file.

Engagement: A recommendation on who is best suited to engage your prospects based on their capacity (wealth) and affinity to your cause (history of giving to organizations like yours and/or board affiliation with organizations like yours!  This information will be provided when a profile is created and in your screening output results CSV file.

Velocity Score: Provides some guidance on whether a prospects giving trend is accelerating, decelerating or steady. 

RFM Score: the overall RFM score based off recency, frequency, and monetary ratings.

RFM Recency Rating: the rating based off of the recency score only.

RFM Frequency Rating: the rating based off of the frequency rating only.

RFM Monetary: the rating based off of the monetary rating only.

Common Name Score: The more uncommon the name (Common Name Score of 1), the more confident that the right prospect has been located.

Business Affiliation: Yes or No - constituent matched on a Dun and Bradstreet record.

SEC Insider: Yes or No - constituent matched on any Insider record.

Donations Minimum Gift Range Low: lower range of the donation
    
Donations Minimum Gift Range High: higher range of the donation

Donations Count Education: Number of gifts found under the Education affinity

Donations Total Value Education: Total value (lower range) of gifts found under the Education affinity

Donations Count Higher Education: Number of gifts found under the Category ‘Higher Education (B4)

Donations Total Value Higher Education: Total value (lower range) of gifts found under the Category ‘Higher Education (B4)

Donations Count Philanthropy: Number of gifts found under the Philanthropy affinity

Donations Total Value Philanthropy: Total value (lower range) of gifts found under the Philanthropy affinity

Donations Count Healthcare: Number of gifts found under the Healthcare affinity

Donations Total Value Healthcare: Total value (lower range) of gifts found under the Healthcare affinity

Donations Count Arts, Culture and Humanities: Number of gifts found under the Arts Culture and Humanities affinity

Donations Total Value Arts, Culture and Humanities: Total value (lower range) of gifts found under the Arts Culture and Humanities affinity

Donations Count Human Services: Number of gifts found under Human Services affinity

Donations Total Value Human Services: Total value (lower range) of gifts found under the Human Services affinity

Donations Count Religion: Number of gifts found under the Religion affinity

Donations Total Value Religion: Total value (lower range) of gifts found under the Religion affinity

Most Recent Private Foundation Name: the name of the most recent foundation

Most Recent Private Foundation Assets: will contain the most recent total assets of that foundation.

Most Recent Public Foundation Name: the latest name of the Public Charity

Most Recent Public Foundation Assets: Total Assets (Book) for the latest year for that public charity.

Inferred Age Range: if an age is found in multiple sources it will provide a range. This will be the age of the Primary only. 

Planned Giving Bequest: This is the typical gift received as a planned gift. Bequests are allocated in the donors’ wills. These could be lump sum payments, estates or a percentage of the donor’s assets. The determination is based on age >= 65 and capacity based off of the following having stock holdings or having a giving capacity greater than $100,000 or having a gift in our donations database marked as a planned/estate/ bequest.

Planned Giving Annuity: A donor generally will gift a large amount of money to a nonprofit. The nonprofit then will pay the donor a set income from that sum yearly until the donor passes away. When the donor is no longer alive, the remaining funds will go to the nonprofit. The determination is based on age >= 70  and capacity based off of having stock holdings or having a giving capacity greater than $100,000 or having a gift in our donations database marked as a planned/estate/ bequest.

Planned Giving Trust: A trust is established by the donor that will pay a specified amount annually to set nonprofits over a fixed period of time (often times until death). Once the fixed period of time is complete, the remaining amount of the funds goes to the nonprofit. The determination is based on age >= 55 and capacity based off of having stock holdings or having a giving capacity greater than $500,000 or having a gift in our donations database marked as a planned/estate/ bequest.

Business Affiliation: flag (Yes/No) is determined by a match in DUN and Bradstreet.  If there are multiple companies, the most recent one is used to provide the values.

Business Affiliation Sales Volume: Business sales volume

Business Affiliation Corporate Title: Prospect/donors coroporate title.

Bus Email: Business Email

Bus Phone: Business Phone

Capacity Range Low: lowest range that your organization has set in your preferences.

Capacity Range High: highest range that your organization has set in your preferences.
